Wine is a journey, and what I like about
this journey is that some wines cause me to have to add new
wine types to my site, which means more pages in the site,
as well as to change up, or add more logic to the way that
the site works. Sparkling wines were one of those
challenges, but dessert wines also pose that challenge.
And this wine, will cause me to finally make another logic
change.
There are several type of Vin Santo,
or 'saintly wine,' and not all of them are equal in taste,
nor complexity. This Vin Santo, the Del Chianti version by
Geografico, is a lovely wine in the fact that while it has
the deep and all-consuming texture of a Sauterne or a Port,
it's sweetness almost has a smoky undertone with a hint of
nutmeg and/or cinnamon.
I give this wine a 9 out of a possible 10,
simply because while it's excellent, I have not had enough
of it's type to make a good and accurate comparison.
This wine is phenomenal and a great after
dinner treat for both men and women. It's also a great
pairing to pastries no matter what time of day it is.
